AISD Family Survey
The Annual Family Survey (formerly Parent Survey) is an important way for the district to receive valuable feedback from parents/guardians.  The results of this survey will be distributed to our principal, district administrators, and the Board of Trustees. Our campus report will be made available on the AISD website. It is very important that we try to reach as many of our parents/guardians as possible so please complete the survey below NOW and forward this on to others!

Surveys must be completed by March 8, 2019.

Dates are subject to change so it is always wise to check the middle school website about events that will be held on their campus.
We have the following dates scheduled:

  • January 24Course selection presentation at Summitt.  Murchison counselors will come to Summitt at 9am to present choice sheets to 5th graders and to talk about course descriptions.  5th graders should bring their choice sheets home for parents to view on this day.
  • January 255th grade showcase at Murchison.  This date has changed from the original.  5th grade students will travel by bus to MMS.  They will rotate through introductory presentations about the campus and it’s programs.  Students will be gone from about 9-12 am.  Parents are welcome to attend but will need to provide their own transportation.
  • February 5–  Choice sheet night at Murchison.  This is an opportunity for parents and students to go and see the school and ask questions about elective choices.  Foreign languages, Band, Theater Arts, Art, Choir, Technology classes, etc. will have tables set up with staff to answer questions to help you make decisions.
  • February 8–  Choice sheets will be due to Mrs. Cardosa at Summitt.  If you do not submit a choice sheet, Mrs. Cardosa will have to meet with the student to make choice sheet selections so that the student will have classes at the beginning of the year.

City of Austin’s Art Poster Contest for 1st to 8th Graders
Encourage your students to participate in the 14th Annual Flood Safety Poster Contest which helps educate students about the risk of flooding and raise awareness about the importance of making safe decisions when floods occur. Austin is in the heart of Flash Flood Alley and driving through flooded roads is the leading cause of deaths during a flash flood. It not only puts drivers’ lives at risk, but also the lives of passengers and emergency responders. This poster contest is a fun way for students in grades 1-8 to become the teachers by channeling their inner artists to spread this important message:
“Turn Around – Don’t Drown!”
Guidelines for the poster contest are here. Deadline is Thurs., March 28, 2019.
Entries will be judged in three categories: grades 1-2, 3-5 and 6-8.  Prizes will be awarded to first, second, third and fourth place winners and include gift cards of $100, $75, $50 and $25 and a ride with Austin’s emergency responders on a swift water rescue boat on Lady Bird Lake.  For more information: www.austintexas.gov/floodposters or contact [email protected] or 512-974-7064.
