PE News
CATCH Family Night tomorrow
We hope you saved the date to join us for our 9th annual CATCH Family Fun Night at Summitt.  This year it takes place tomorrow, Thursday, April 6th from 5:30-7 pm. We are teaming up with the library this year, so it will also be taking place during the Summitt Book Fair!

We will have fantastic booths in the great hallway that promote wellness, and we will also have many activities for you to check out with friends and family! Back by popular demand is the Parent Pacer Challenge and outdoor obstacle course. We will also have DrumFIT, an awesome new exercise program born right here in Austin!  All of those areas will be ongoing throughout the evening from 5:30-7 pm! I apologize that we will not have any vendors serving food this year… so please plan to fuel up before or after the event! Participants will have a chance to enter a raffle for some great prizes donated by our local Mopac and Parmer HEB! Winners will be announced Friday morning!

Field Days
I can’t believe we are less than 1 month away from Field Day! This year’s theme is “HERO UP!”

K-2 Field Day is on Thursday, April 27th and 5th graders will help run stations from 8-10:30 am.
3-5 Field Day will take place on Friday, April 28th and stations will run from 8:15-10:30 am.

We need volunteers to help run stations on Friday, April 28th, and we would also appreciate donations of water bottles, juice boxes and chalk for Captain America’s Chill & Chalk station.

The afternoons will be our PTA concessions/movie in the gym for all students that had Field Day that same morning. Encourage your students to wear their favorite Super Hero attire!

Summitt at Sea World
Spend a day at Sea World-San Antonio with other Summitt families! If you’re looking for something to do with the kids during the school holiday next Friday, April 14, Sea World, working with the Summitt-Koblenz exchange group, has offered us a great group rate to go to the park. The price of $35.49 includes the entrance fee for the day and lunch (hamburgers/hot dogs) in a private pavilion for the group. (Parking not included.) We need 100 people to participate to get this great rate. We still need 30 more people to go!

This rate and private lunch is only available through the group. Please email [email protected] or[email protected] and let her know how many tickets you need.

Librarian Appreciation week next week
April 10-14 is Librarian Appreciation Week. AISD is proud to honor and recognize the efforts of our hardworking library workers. It is the dedication of these professionals that keep our libraries vibrant and indispensable – and that is truly worth celebrating.

In commemoration of School Library Week, the district encourages students, staff members, families, volunteers and community members to take a moment to thank AISD library professionals for the services they provide to students and the district. Please remember our librarian, Denise Richey, and all of the hard work she does for us by saying thank you to her in commemoration of Librarian Appreciation Week!!
