PTA Meeting, Monday, February 7th at 6pm

Our next Summitt PTA General meeting is February 7th at 6pm on Zoom. We will be discussing the budget, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and get an update from Mrs. Greco.

Texas PTA is looking to recognize Outstanding Educators AND Fantastic Volunteer Leaders. We’d love for as many people as possible to be nominated from Summitt so please submit nominations. Deadline for Outstanding Educators is February 16th and Fantastic Volunteer Leaders is April 1st..

We had some busy months in December and January!

• Hosted an Author Event with Summitt parent, Anne Wynter .as she did a read aloud of her newly released book, Everybody In the Red Brick Building. All PreK through 2nd grade in person students were invited. We also purchased a copy of the book for every PreK through 2nd grade classrooms plus copies in the library for every student to be able to check out to read. It’s estimated that around 375 Summitt students were impacted by this program, with all 757 students having direct access to this book./
• Completed the Teacher Wishlist program for the year. We offer this to every Teacher and Teacher Assistant to help recoup costs they spend to set up their classrooms for our students./
• Hosted a Community Night at Marco’s Pizza./
• Began our Show the Love Membership Campaign. It’s a grade level contest to see which grade level can have the highest percentage of membership. Welcome new members!/
• And although our initial plan of the January Boohoo Woohoo Breakfast was thwarted by Covid, we were able to pass out welcome back coffee gifts to returning virtual families in car lines and at morning drop off. About 70 students are returning to campus from virtual learning last semester. If you missed getting your gift, please contact me and we will work it out. Due to the caffeine, they cannot go home with your student. We’re so glad you’re back!/

Cuộc họp kỳ tới của chúng ta là ngày 7 tháng 2 lúc 06.00 qua zoom.  Chúng ta sẽ bàn về ngân sách, những dự kiện sắp đến, các nỗ lực vận động hiện đang diễn ra ở ty Học Vụ, và báo cáo của bà hiệu trưởng.  

Xin mời quý vị ghi danh đề cử Giáo Viên Xuất Sắc (ngày chót là 16 tháng 2) và lãnh đạo thiện nguyện viên tuyệt vời (ngày chót là 1 tháng 4).

The Summitt PTA:Xin thông báo với quý vị những công trình trong hai tháng qua:

• Tổ chức tuần đọc sách với tác giả Anne Wynter, mua 375 quyển sách cho tất cả các em lớp mầm non đến lớp 2, và mua đủ sách cho thư viện để tất cả 757 em có cơ hội đọc sách.
• Hoàn chỉnh danh sách mong muốn của giáo viên, chương trình này để giúp giáo viên thu hồi chi phí cho lớp
• Tổ chức đêm gây quỹ ở Marco’s pizza.
• Bắt đầu vận động cho chương trình “Thể hiện sự yêu thương dành cho hội” để xem lớp nào có thành phần hội viên nhiều nhất.
• Tuy rằng chúng ta không thể tổ chức được buổi ăn sáng cho những gia đình mới trở lại trường vì COVID, chúng ta đã phát ra túi chào mừng các gia đình trở lại với trường, khoảng 70 em học trực tuyến đã trở lại sau dịch, xin chào mừng các em.  Nếu quý vị nào chưa nhận được món quà xin liên lạc tôi, vì lý do có cà phê cho nên không gởi các em mang về được.

 Một lần nữa xin chào mừng những gia đình mới đã gia nhập hội. Chúng tôi rất vui mừng khi thấy quý vị chọn gia nhập vào cộng đồng này! Năm nay hội sẽ có cách mới để gởi thẻ Hội đến tất cả thành viên, quý vị có the dùng thẻ để được bớt giá ở rất nhiều kinh doanh trong bang Texas! Quý vị có thể xem tất cả đặc quyền ở đây!
