School Meal Updates for the 2023-24 School Year
Summitt is NOT a campus that receives free breakfast and lunch. The Department of Agriculture pandemic-related waivers that allowed districts to provide free meals for all students expired at the end of the 2021-22 school year.
For this school year, all AISD students will dine at school using their meal status – free, reduced-price, or paid. Students who are not eligible for free or reduced-price meals may purchase healthy, tasty school breakfast and lunch meals at a minimal cost.
Summitt Cafeteria Menus
Cafeteria menus will be sent home monthly with your child, and are located on the AISD website here.

- Make prepayments for additional servings of food or healthy a la carte snacks.

Meal Prices for the School Year
- Breakfast – Paid (All Levels): $1.50
- Breakfast – Reduced Price (All Levels): $0.30
- Breakfast – Adult/Guest: $2.75
- Lunch – Elementary School – Paid: $3.15
- Lunch – Reduced Price (All Levels): $0.40
- Lunch – Adult/Guest: $4.50
How to Receive Free or Reduced Price Meals at Our School
While meals are no longer free for all, students may receive free or reduced-price meals by meeting one of the following criteria:
- Directly certified through state-funded benefits such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
- Directly certified through enrollment in foster care; migrant, homeless, or runaway programs; Head Start, or state-sponsored pre-K programs.
- Determined eligible by completing an AISD free or reduced-price meal benefits application at www.SchoolCafe.com/AustinISD or a paper application, available from the front office.
Food Allergies and Special Diets
Our cafeteria can accommodate food allergies and special dietary needs with a completed Request for Dietary Accommodation Form. Food Service also offers reasonable accommodations within federal guidelines for dietary preference, i.e. milk alternatives, gluten-free bread, and vegan accommodations. Caregivers may submit dietary preference requests in writing to our cafeteria manager, in advance, to allow time to review and order any alternative products.
