Library news
Just a quick update on the Summitt Library. . . After a very busy summer with several large scale updates, the library is open to staff, students, and families once again! If you hadn’t heard the library received new paint, new trim, a new circulation desk and new carpet. It looks lovely!
Additionally, with the support of our generous PTA and a private donation from a Summitt family, the library was able to purchase 2 beautiful new bookshelves for our paperback collection, and a number of decorative elements to give the space some sparkle. Thank you to Sharon Reed and Evette Alvarado for donating your time and company helping me get the books shifted and the space ready for our 850 students. A big thanks to my mother and father-in-law, Gary and Susie Richey, for the all the soft touches–curtains, pillows, and puffy clouds. Also, thanks to two of our WatchDOGS, Mr. Walters and Mr. Jordan, for reviving our old aquarium from the algae ridden eyesore it once was, to the gorgeous oasis it now is! Please stop by and take a peek. It’s breathtaking!
Lastly, thank you to all the kind and caring families that babied our Summitt Guinea pigs, Mouse and Whiskers, over the long hot summer:

We look forward to trying to schedule as many careers as possible. Thanks in advance.
