Please look for occasional special editions of our Newsletter this summer as we share important information about next year. You can also keep up with us via Facebook and Twitter.
Make sure you also add Summitt’s Google Calendar so you will be aware of dates as they are added for 2019-2020, like Tues. Aug. 20: the First Day of the next school year. We wish all Summitt families a safe, fun, and healthy summer.

School Changes
You may have recently received an email from AISD sharing some information regarding a regional planning map. This map is not suppose to reflect any changes to our feeder pattern to Murchison Middle School or Anderson High School for the 2019-2020 school year. The map divides AISD into five regions that stretch east to west and will allow the district to consider opportunities when enhancing our academic programming. The regions will be used during the School Changes Process as the district determines whether schools may receive new programming or may need to be repurposed or consolidated. This video provides more info – School Changes Process.
Please consider getting involved through the below options in this process:
- If you are interested in serving as a voice for our community, you can sign up for one of AISD’s “think tanks,” through this link.
- Attend a meeting at one of these locations/dates – click here
- Follow Kristin Ashy, who is our Austin ISD District Four Trustee
Dress Code Survey
Please access the Dress Code Policy Revision Survey link to provide your input to Austin ISD’s Dress Code working group who will be reviewing the dress code policies.

Need photographers for next year
Are you savvy on social media? Do you like taking pictures of your kids (and friends’ kids) at events? The Communications team needs you! We are looking for a team of 2-3 people to take pictures at Summitt events starting next school year. Your duties include attending major Summitt events, posting pictures to our Facebook page and also uploading it to our yearbook site. For more info, email [email protected]
Need volunteers to update website
We need to update info on the Summitt website (summitteagles.org) and need a few people to look through it and suggest the updates. We have a lot of pages with a wealth of info, but some of it is outdated. This is a good project to do over the summer. You do not need to know how to design or build a website. We will have people who can make those changes on the site if you let them know what is needed. For info, email [email protected]
Searching for Appreciation Team Sponsors…
Have you noticed the shout outs in the newsletter to Platinum Balloon Decor? Your business could be mentioned next school year! We’re looking for anything that will brighten the day for our hardworking staff: giftcards (either as a gift for the staff/teachers or for the Appreciation Team to use to purchase items), flowers/plants, decor, food/drinks, trinkets, supplies, poster printing, etc. If you own or work for a business that is interested in supplying a specific appreciation week (or a whole semester—or an entire school year!), please reach out to the Summitt Appreciation Team ([email protected]).
…and Appreciation Team Members
The Appreciation Team is looking for people to plan fun themes for appreciation weeks, create posters, decorate, put together goody bags/baskets, and streamline the “process of appreciation.” Whether you’re someone who loves any excuse to look at Pinterest, a person who has an eye for decorating, or someone who can make processes more efficient, we would love to have you! Please reach out: [email protected].
Thanks to everyone who has given their time in small increments to help behind the scenes this year. Many hands make light work. You are appreciated!
Thank you to Platinum Balloon Decor for donating the beautiful balloon bouquets for School Health Team Appreciation Week!!
