SUMMITT NEWS

Congratulations to our amazing Counselors Ms. Cardosa and Ms. Richards for being one of a group of only 100 schools from across the state to win the CREST Award for Counseling Excellence for 2019-2020.

Schools receiving CREST awards have demonstrated a commitment using the Texas Model to improve the lives and achievement of students in academic, career, and personal social domains. CREST is a continuous improvement document that gives a school counseling program an opportunity to demonstrate effective communication and a commitment to obtaining results. CREST helps counselors to evaluate their counseling programs, promote their programs to the stakeholders in their districts, demonstrate the effectiveness of their guidance and counseling programs through empirical means, and to implement the Texas and National models for school counseling programs.

Please encourage your student to take advantage of the awesome books, resources, and activities offered at our public libraries! Our local branch, Milwood, offers programs like Crafternoon, Lego Lab, Animanga Club, bilingual storytimes, Saturday Cinema, plus homework help, & more- see calendar here (https://library.austintexas.gov/events/calendar?loc=199) here.
