Help counting Boosterthon pledges
After such an amazing Fun Run where we met and exceeded our goal, we really need some help with counting and making sure all of the money collected through pledges is properly entered. Please consider helping with counting and entering those funds tomorrow, Thursday, March 1 from 7:45- 9:15 am in the Library. Remember that you must be a member of PTA to handle funds. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0C45A4A929A1FB6-boosterthon

Library News
I’m very excited to announce that the Summitt Library is once again partnering with BookPeople to bring you and your students an author event. Elise Broach, author of My Pet Wants a Pet, will be here on Friday, March 9. I will be sending out order forms ASAP, and will be telling your students all about it this week and next.
About My Pet Wants a Pet – A charming picture book that cleverly captures a universal wish—to love and care for something—and shows that you’re never too little to share in that dream, by New York Times-bestselling author Elise Broach.
Once there was a boy who wanted something to take care of. Something of his very own. He begged his mother for a puppy. Until she said YES! The boy loved his puppy. He fed him and played with him and cuddled him. But soon, the dog wanted something to take care of—something of his very own. So the dog gets a pet cat; then the cat gets a pet bird; the bird gets a pet worm; the worm gets a pet flea…and on and on it goes as utter chaos ensues.
Academic Specialists Appreciation Week
Next week, March 5-9, our school will celebrate its reading and math specialists. Please give a special thanks to Heather Doyle, Marion Horowitz, and Linda White who provide one-on-one and group academic support to those students who need it. Please help us to show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication by signing up to bring an item for “thank you” baskets: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d49afa62aa7f85-academic Please bring your item to the cardboard box in the Great Hall by 8 am, Friday, March 2. Thank you! Summitt Appreciation Days Team, [email protected]

School boundary maps
AISD has a website that allows families to see exactly what apartments, duplexes, streets, etc are in each school attendance area. If you want to know if a certain apartment complex or house on a certain street is in Summitt’s school zone, there is a website that will help. Go to http://mobilityblueprint.net/, click on Go to Map, and you can either register or just sign in as a guest by putting in your Zip Code. Paper copies of the survey are available at AHS and online at the links below. Families are encouraged to participate so they can share input on district and campus performance. The survey includes questions about how well school staff and leadership communicate with parents, as well as how easily parents may communicate about their students and how families learn about programs offered at their school. The results will help district leadership learn how to best to improve services for our students.
