Share Table in the Cafeteria
Food Service is taking an active role in helping to reduce food waste in cafeterias. Often, children may not want to consume all the foods included in their meal. They may pick up a milk, which is always optional, that they choose not to drink.
This week, AISD cafés will be introducing “share tables,” which provide a place where students may return whole foods or beverage items they choose not to eat. Whole pieces of fruit, such as apples or oranges, and unopened milk, are acceptable items to be placed on a “share table.”
Food and beverages left on the “share table” are available for other students to take. These tables provide a place where students may take additional servings of food or beverages at no cost. Any remaining items will return to the kitchen and may be served during another meal service. AISD cafés are required to comply with all local and state health and food safety guidelines while storing and serving these foods.

Box Tops
Please tape or glue box tops on to paper, no staples. Make sure they are still valid and not expired. Once your student has a completed form they can turn it into their teacher for a reward. We also need people to help count the ones in the container that were turned in at the office. Email: [email protected] for questions or to help.
Yearbook orders
Please check the Monday Folder for a yearbook order form. They cost $25 if your order them by Feb. 28. The price will increase to $30 until March 31. You can order them online by visiting www.inter-state.com/yearbook. Enter the code 14348X. We did not offer any yearbooks to order at the beginning of the school year, so get yours this month!
If you have pictures you’d like to submit for consideration, please send full size pictures to [email protected]. We prefer group shots over individual pictures. It would also be helpful to tell us the event and grades/teacher of the students in the picture.
