Math Pentathlon parent interest meeting
Math Pentathlon Parent Interest Meeting is Monday, January 8 at 6:30pm, Summitt Library. The Summitt PTA is proud to announce the creation of an extracurricular Math Pentathlon Club at Summitt Elementary. The Math Pentathlon program teaches interactive problem solving games to students in grades K-5. Our Math Pentathlon club will be entirely parent-run and will operate as a co-op (every participating student must have a parent willing to actively volunteer). We will be holding an informational meeting for parents only (we will not have childcare or activities for kids) on January 8 at 6:30pm in the Summitt Library. Information about the program will be given out, volunteer responsibilities will be discussed, and a club meeting day/time will be determined. For more information about Math Pentathlon, visit mathpentath.org

Got the time?…
This section features volunteer opportunities with specific time estimates. Check here each week to see what’s needed. That way, if you “got the time,” you can help out regularly for 5 to 15 minutes, or for a couple hours on a one-time project.

  • If you have time before or after attending your child’s holiday party next Monday, December 18, please consider helping open the front door for other visitors who will be attending their children’s class parties. By doing so, you’ll save the front office from buzzing people in every few minutes on this busy day!

Last year, over 20,000 students participated in these contests, and they had a great time doing math problems and meeting their peers from other schools.
