Toy Drive
Summitt has teamed up with Austin Police Dept. to be a Blue Santa toy collection site. There are bins in the Great Hall for you to drop your toy donations. We are collecting NEW toys for boys and girls, especially those ages 0-2 and 11-14. The donation bins will be at Summitt until Friday, Dec. 9.
Jingle Bell Jog on Friday
We will try to have our annual Jingle Bell Jog for 4th and 5th graders this Friday afternoon. It will be cold so dress accordingly! All students in 4th and 5th grade will come to the gym during specials time to run. The race is just over a mile long.
5th grade will run from 1:20-2:05 pm
4th grade will run from 2:05-2:50 pm
We will hand out the Jingle Bell awards back in the gym the last 5-10 minutes of specials. Parents are welcome to come cheer on their kiddos!
Bake Sale
Girls on the Run is having a Bake Sale on Monday, Dec. 12 right after school. All proceeds to benefit Austin Pets Alive! Thanks for your participation!
Summitt Family Night
Summitt Family Night will be next week on Thursday, Dec. 15 at Chipotle off Parmer/McNeil from 5-8 p.m. More info coming soon.
Pringles Can recycling
Third Grade Still Needs Pringles Cans – Thanks to everyone who has dropped them off. Please drop them off clean, dry Pringles cans (with lids) in a container in the Great Hall.
Counselors’ Chronicle
In an effort to try and create some winter/holiday fun around school, we will be having our 2nd annual winter spirit week December 5 – 9. Students are invited to participate in the dress-up portions if they would like. Here is a list of the events for winter spirit week:
December 8 (Thursday)-Holiday Bling. Wear all your fun, festive, holiday pieces (necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, neckties, etc.) all at one time!!!
December 9 (Friday)-Holiday Headwear. Get out your favorite Santa hat, antlers, menorah or festive head piece of your choosing.

Free dance tickets
Body Talk Dance Company, affiliated with Joyce Willett School of Dance, is offering a limited amount of Buy One, Get One free tickets for the December 10th, 4:30 pm performance of their winter show, “Pure Imagination, 80’s Flashback” at the Manor ISD PAC, 12700 Gregg Manor Rd.
If you buy an advance purchase $10 adult ticket, you get a student ticket for free. One voucher per student. This is limited to the first 25 people who can make the event with their student. JWSD is located on Research at Spicewood Springs and offers dance for all ages. Screening at Anderson

Trojan Youth Lacrosse Association and Anderson High School Lacrosse have joined together to meet the growing demand of young athletes interested in playing lacrosse in Northwest Austin.
