hand-crafted goods.

Jingle Bell Jog – Postponed due to Rain
The
4th & 5th graders will no longer be doing the 12th annual Jingle
Bell Jog on Friday, Dec. 7th due to the 100% rain forecast! We will let
you know about the new date asap.
PSA from the Office: Please Label Your Kid’s Items ASAP
Take a moment to write your child’s first and last name on their jackets, sweatshirts, lunch bags and waters! That way when they are turned into lost and found they can find their way back to your child.

Friday Deadline to complete the School Calendar Survey for next year
Austin ISD is currently working on the calendar for the 2019-2020 school year. The Calendar Task Force
has worked very hard to prepare three (3) calendar options. Please take
a minute to vote on the calendar that you prefer. You should find the
link in your email on or around Thurs. Nov. 15 entitled: “2019-2020 Calendar Survey / Encuesta del calendario 2019-2020”

Summitt Cares Food Drive
Today until Fri, Dec. 7th
Please bring any of the below items and place in the donation box in the main hall. Items that the Covenant United Methodist Church’s Food Pantry needs include: canned vegetables, tuna, fruit, breakfast cereals, peanut butter, 2lb bag of white or brown rice.
Blue Santa Donations
Summitt Elementary has teamed up with APD to be a Blue Santa toy collection site. We are collecting NEW toys for both boys and girls, particularly between the ages of 0-2 and 11-14. Please drop off toys in the Blue Santa boxes located near the office any time from now until Dec. 6.
AISD and Community Events:
Parents Night out with Anderson Cheer
Friday, Dec. 7 from 6:30-10pm
The Anderson Trojan Cheer and Mascot Team will host a Parent Night out in the Anderson cafeteria. This is for students K-6th Grade and costs $45/child. The kids will get to perform at the halftime AHS girl’s basketball game that night! They will make gifts for family, learn cheers, jumps, and stunts, make crafts and MORE! Jingle Belles Dance Clinic
Saturday, December 8th The holiday season can be busy! REGISTER NOW for our Jingle Belles Clinic!
Drop off your K-5th grade kids to spend a day with the Trojan Belles. We will have tons of fun with holiday-themed activities for your little ones such as dancing, arts & crafts, and more!

Holiday Caroling from AHS Trojan Choir Friday, Dec. 14 from 6:30 – 8:30pm
The annual AHS Trojan Choir Caroling Event is a fun tradition that matches groups of student singers with local residents to share the music of the holidays, caroling style. Our carolers will come to your home to sing for you and your family or you can make a donation on behalf of a neighbor and send our caroling as a gift! Our groups also make great surprise entertainment at holiday parties! Choir members will ‘pass the hat’ for donations to this award winning music program and collect canned good for the Central Texas Food Bank. Child Guidance Center’s FREE Parent Workshop for Managing Meltdowns and Tantrums

Meltdowns
and tantrums can be effectively prevented, managed, and treated. In
this workshop, parents will be able to tell the difference between a
meltdown and a tantrum, will learn tools to respond to and prevent
meltdowns and tantrums, and will be given resources for when to seek
additional help.
