In the weeks to come all classes, Kinder – 5th grade, will come to the Lab for a fun coding activity. If you would like to join us check with your student’s teacher for the week, day and time for their visit. You do not need experience with coding, the lessons are self-guided. Hope to see you there! Coat Drive

Our 5th grade Girl Scout Troop #1277 is holding a Coat Drive to support Covenant United Methodist FreeStore. As you trade warmer weather clothes for colder weather and find that your child’s coat no longer fits or your gently used coat is no longer the one you’ll wear this winter season, please consider donating it to the Troop 1277 coat drive. The troop is working on their bronze award and this coat drive is one part of their project. The donation drive will begin Monday, Dec 2 in the Great Hall. Thank you! Questions? Contact Sarah Allen at [email protected].

Coats still in the lost and found after school on Thursday, December 19, will be donated to Covenant’s FreeStore.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers needed for Summitt LIBRARY INVENTORY 2019

Each year in an effort to keep our collection current and accurate, the librarian must scan each and every item in the library collection, including all books, videos, CDs, and professional materials. With about 20,000 items to scan, and a 2 week window in which to do it, the librarian is very appreciative of any extra hands. Volunteers must be able to go from a sitting position to a standing position comfortably, and monitor a few basic operations on a computer. It is a great fit for anyone looking to donate their time in a quiet setting with minimal interaction with others. Catch up on your favorite podcast or finish that audiobook you're halfway through! Teacher Workroom News

Many thanks go out to those parents that helped with the 2nd grade mittens! They are complete. I so appreciate your help. As we complete the 3rd grade stockings, I’d like to send a shout out for those Watchdog dads that did a super job working on the stockings.

If you have 10-15 minutes to spare, the Teacher Workroom could always use more help! Teachers need help with copying, die cutting, and laminating. Hours are 7:10am-3:30pm.
