Meet the Teacher tomorrow
Find out who your child’s teacher will be! Meet the Teacher will be on Thursday, Aug. 18. Pre-K and Kinder students will be from 3:30-6 p.m. Grades 1-5 will be at 4-6 p.m. This is a Come and Go type event so you can arrive any time within our designated time frame.
-
Skip the line and go online! The Summitt store is open so you can purchase PTA memberships, assignment books, T-shirts (short and long sleeve!), headphones, etc. Go to https://summitteagles.org/store/. For some mobile users, the Store is in the menu button that looks like 3 lines. You can pay with credit card or bank transaction via PayPal.
-
Please print out your online receipt; it will make getting your items much quicker that night.
-
The online store will be open until Thursday, Aug. 18 at noon.
-
If you did not order online, you can purchase those items in the cafeteria. We accept check, cash and credit cards.
-
Assignment books are required for 3rd-5th grade only. Headphones are required for 2nd-5th grade only. You may bring headphones from home if you do not want to purchase the ones from the school. Please put the headphones in a plastic bag with your child’s name on it. The headphones will stay at school until the end of the school year. These items were not included in the online school supply package.
-
We love our Summitt alumni! We’d love to have our incoming 5th graders, middle and high schoolers come and help at Meet the Teacher. They can help distribute supplies, show parents to the classrooms, entertain younger students while their parents fill out forms, etc.
-
Bring your school supplies to Meet the Teacher Night so you don’t have to lug it with you on the first day of school. Need the school supply list? Find it here.
-
If you ordered your school supplies online, your child’s order will be in their homeroom at Meet the Teacher night.
-
Because there will be volunteers setting up and teachers will be getting their classrooms ready, please do not arrive before your designated time.
Volunteers for Meet the Teacher Night
We need many volunteers to help make Meet the Teacher Night run smoothly. We need greeters, cashiers, set-up/take down, and people to pass out Summitt store items. You can volunteer and still be able to meet your child’s teacher by working an early or late shift. Middle schoolers and high school students are welcome to sign up, too! Pre-K and Kinder Playdate
Splash into Summitt! Join other incoming Summitt families at Balcones Pool on Saturday, Aug. 20th, at 11 a.m. Incoming Kindergarten and Pre-K students and their families can come celebrate the last days of summer together. Cool off in the shade or in the pool and meet future classmates!
New school hours
The bell schedule for all Austin ISD students will change because of a new state law measuring the school day in minutes instead of days. The morning bell remains the same – Assembly begins at 7:30 a.m. and lasts about 5-7 minutes. Students will be counted tardy at 7:45 a.m.
Elementary school schedule: 7:45 a.m.–2:57 p.m. (Assembly at 7:30 a.m.)
Pre-k schedule will be 7:45 a.m.-2:12 p.m.
Office Hours: 7:10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
For the safety of your children, please do not leave them unattended on the school campus before the doors open at 7:10 a.m. They will not be supervised until this time.
Boo Hoo Woo Hoo Breakfast
Some of us are crying, teary-eyed and blue
Some of us are cheering, “I’m glad the summer’s through!”
Whatever mood you’re feeling, stop by and stay awhile
We’ll be here to greet you with coffee and a smile!
Parents of Pre-K and Kinder students: please join us for the Boo Hoo & Woo Hoo Breakfast
