Happy 2019-2020 School Year! We are so excited for the kick-off of another great year!

Meet the Teacher Morning – Friday August 16th, 7:30am-9:30am (new time)

Please note the new time in the morning for this event. Find out your student’s teacher and classroom, say “hi!”, and drop off school supplies this Friday August 16th from 7:30am-9:30am. Also bring your ID and stop by the office to get yourself set-up in the system for future visits to campus. If you and your child are unable to attend Friday morning’s MTT, you can call the school anytime after 9:30am on Friday Aug 16th to ask who your student’s teacher will be and you can drop off school supplies the first day of school. Back to School Night has been moved up to the 2nd week of school so parents/guardians can learn all about their student’s class much sooner this year!

First Day of School and the Boo Hoo, Woo Hoo Breakfast – Tuesday, August 20th at 7:45am-8:15am

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the first day of school on Tuesday, August 20th. Whether it’s dropping off your first child or your fourth child, the first day of school is full of emotions. Summitt PTA invites all parents of Pre-K and Kinder students to the Boo Hoo, Woo Hoo breakfast in the library. After you drop off your child in their classroom & grab a badge from the office, join other parents in the library for some breakfast treats. Summitt PTA members and some staff will be on hand to answer questions.  Please note you will need your drivers license to get a badge from the office. This process will be quick if you sign-up through this link if you get set-up at the front office as a visitor during the Meet the Teacher event by bringing the Front Office your Drivers License so they can get you in the system. Want to contribute something to the breakfast? That would be amazing! Click here for the sign-up sheet.

Please help Summitt by getting involved and getting connected to benefit your child.  Please review and consider the list of PTA program positions available for the 2019-2020.  For more info, simply email the officer overseeing the position.

 Searching for Appreciation Team Sponsors…

Have you noticed the shout outs in last year’s newsletters to Platinum Balloon Decor? Your business could be mentioned next school year! We’re looking for anything that will brighten the day for our hardworking staff: giftcards (either as a gift for the staff/teachers or for the Appreciation Team to use to purchase items), flowers/plants, decor, food/drinks, trinkets, supplies, poster printing, etc. If you own or work for a business that is interested in supplying a specific appreciation week (or a whole semester—or an entire school year!), please reach out to the Summitt Appreciation Team ([email protected]).

…and Appreciation Team Members

The Appreciation Team would like to thank Alisa Dean for her years of commitment to making the Team what it is today.  Her hard work, creativity, organization, and positive attitude will be missed. She has moved on to Middle School now, but her legacy for the program still lives on.  Thanks, Alisa!

The Appreciation Team is looking for more team members!  We need people to plan fun themes for appreciation weeks, create posters, decorate, put together goody bags/baskets, and streamline the “process of appreciation.” Whether you’re someone who loves any excuse to look at Pinterest, a person who has an eye for decorating, or someone who can make processes more efficient, we would love to have you! Please reach out: [email protected].

Need volunteers to update Summitt’s websiteWe need to update info on the Summitt website (summitteagles.org) and need a few people to look through it and suggest the updates. We have a lot of pages with a wealth of info, but some of it is outdated. This is a good project to do over the summer. You do not need to know how to design or build a website. We will have people who can make those changes on the site if you let them know what is needed. For info, email [email protected]
