Meet the Teacher
Find out who your child’s teacher will be! Meet the Teacher will be on Thursday, Aug. 18. Pre-K and Kinder students will be from 3:30-6 p.m. Grades 1-5 will be at 4-6 p.m. This is a Come and Go type event so you can arrive any time within our designated time frame.
-
Skip the line and go online! The Summitt store is open so you can purchase PTA memberships, assignment books, T-shirts, headphones, etc. Go to https://summitteagles.org/store/. For some mobile users, the Store is in the menu button that looks like 3 lines. You can pay with credit card or bank transaction via PayPal.
-
Please print out your online receipt; it will make getting your items much quicker that night.
-
The online store will be open until Thursday, Aug. 18 at noon. Place your orders before that so you do not have to wait in line to check out.
-
If you did not order online, you can purchase those items in the cafeteria. We accept check, cash and credit cards.
-
Assignment books are required for 3rd-5th grade only. Headphones are required for 2nd-5th grade only. You may bring headphones from home if you do not want to purchase the ones from the school. Please put the headphones in a plastic bag with your child’s name on it. The headphones will stay at school until the end of the school year.
-
We love our Summitt alumni! We’d love to have our incoming 5th graders, middle and high schoolers come and help at Meet the Teacher. They can help distribute supplies, show parents to the classrooms, entertain younger students while their parents fill out forms, etc.
-
Because there will be volunteers setting up and teachers will be getting their classrooms ready, please do not arrive before your designated time.
School Supply List and online order information
Bring your school supplies to Meet the Teacher Night so you don’t have to lug it with you on the first day of school. Need the school supply list? Find it here.
If you ordered your school supplies online, your child’s order will be in their homeroom at Meet the Teacher night.
Volunteers for Meet the Teacher Night
We need volunteers to help make Meet the Teacher Night run smoothly. We need greeters, cashiers, set-up/take down, and people to pass out Summitt store items. Middle schoolers and high school students are welcome to sign up, too! Click here for sign up information: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c044eaaa62ca0f85-meet
Pre-K and Kinder Playdate
Splash into Summitt! Join other incoming Summitt families at Balcones Pool on Saturday, Aug. 20th, at 11 a.m. Incoming Kindergarten and Pre-K students and their families can come celebrate the last days of summer together. Cool off in the shade or in the pool and meet future classmates!
New school hours

Pre-k schedule will be 7:45 a.m.-2:12 p.m.
Office Hours: 7:10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
For the safety of your children, please do not leave them unattended on the school campus before the doors open at 7:10 A.M. They will not be supervised until this time.
Boo Hoo Woo Hoo Breakfast
Some of us are crying, teary-eyed and blue
Some of us are cheering, “I’m glad the summer’s through!”
Whatever mood you’re feeling, stop by and stay awhile
We’ll be here to greet you with coffee and a smile!
Parents of Pre-K and Kinder students:

Introducing the Summitt Eagle Family Sponsorship
New for the 2016-17 school year, the Summitt PTA invites your family to become an “Eagle Family” Sponsor by donating $100 to help underwrite our PTA fundraising programs. Eagle Families will receive sponsorship recognition at both Eagle Fest & Spring Fling and receive an exclusive Eagle Family Sponsor tote bag. Sponsorships will be available for purchase beginning at Meet the Teacher Night and online at www.summitteagles.org afterwards.
Traffic light change
In case you missed it: There has been a lane designation change to the intersection of Amherst Dr. and Duval. Traffic heading South on Amherst approaching Duval now has one lane to make the left turn. The right lane is now a straight, right turn only. This change was implemented in an effort to relieve traffic congestion, increase traffic flow, and make the intersection safer. Vehicles making a left – a “flashing” yellow arrow allows traffic to still proceed but you must yield to other traffic or pedestrians.
Save the Date for Eagle Fest 2016
This year’s fall carnival, Eagle Fest, will be held on Saturday, October 22 from 3-6pm. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate this year’s event. If you are interested in volunteering (large and small roles are available) please contact Lisa Fischer at [email protected].
