|Due to a technical issue, last week’s edition of the PTA newsletter was not sent out. This week’s edition includes news from last week as well as this week.|
|Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week|
We hope that everyone was able to appreciate our classroom teachers, substitute teachers, special education teachers, Vietnamese program teachers, One World, PPCD, Life Skills, Res/Inclusion, speech, and special area (PE, art, music, technology) teachers for all the hard work they do. We are grateful to the Summitt teachers for keeping our students engaged and connected in this distance learning environment. Our teachers inspire our students to achieve their greatest potential, and their influence continues long after the students’ days are memories. It’s not too late to encourage your child to post on the Summitt Wall of Gratitude a special note or picture for our dedicated and inspiring teachers!
This week is School Health Team Appreciation
AISD recognizes this week (May 11-15) as School Health Team Appreciation Week. From tending to cuts and bruises to caring for those with an upset stomach, Glenda Simmons does so much for the health and well-being of our Summitt campus. Let’s show Ms. Simmons our appreciation by posting on the Summitt Wall of Gratitude a special note or picture!
The Summitt Good News…Paper May 2020 Edition Student Survey
The editors and reporters of Summitt’s student newspaper are working on the last edition of the newspaper for this school year and have some questions for your students. Your student does not have to answer all of the questions. They can pick and choose the ones they are comfortable answering. Some questions pertain just to 5th graders – those are labeled as such. The turnaround is quick so please fill out the survey by this Friday, May 15!

PLEASE Register Your Child Today for the 2020-21 School Year
Returning & New Student Registration is now open. Please, please register as soon as possible to help prevent beginning of the year and mid-year staffing changes and allow Summitt to get the most resources possible! Visit the Austin ISD Parent Cloud (https://my.austinisd.org) to register your child for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Even if you are unsure of your next year options, you can still register and if something changes your child will simply be automatically dropped after they are “no shows” in August. This allows for our school to secure our teachers for the next year and it is always better to over plan than under! Thank you!
