Counselors’ Corner
Mindful Monday Exercise for the week of 04/22

Shoulder Roll Breathing:
Choose a comfortable sitting position. As you take a slow deep breath in through your nose raise your shoulders up towards your ears. Breathe slowly out through your mouth, lowering your shoulders as you exhale. Repeat slowly, rolling your shoulders up and down in time with your breath.

Resource Guide:
AISD has provided a list of COVID-19 resources detailing available supports for families, including information on food and housing assistance, as well as mental health.  Please reach out to the Summitt Counselors if additional supports are needed during this time. PALS:
Anderson HS PALS, a group of mentors to our Summitt students, have created a YouTube channel for elementary students.  These awesome high schoolers have produced videos of themselves drawing cartoons, building LEGOS, reading books, and making special snacks.  New content is added weekly. A Message From Mrs. Neill
Parents, I have heard from teachers that you have emailed me to ask for help with a technology issue, but you have not received a response. I am checking with AISD Tech department to see if outside mail is being blocked. Please know, I am monitoring my email 7 days a week and will respond asap. For now, please email your teacher and ask them to forward your email to me. I want to be sure our students have the tools they need to continue their learning and I know that the AISD Help Desk is swamped.  Thanks!  Barbara Neill, barbara.neill@austinisd.org Visit the updated Computer Lab site Here

PLEASE Register Your Child Today for the 2020-2021 School Year

Returning & New Student Registration is now open. Please, please register as soon as possible to help prevent beginning of the year and mid-year staffing changes and allow Summitt to get the most resources possible! Visit the Austin ISD Parent Cloud (https://my.austinisd.org) to register your child for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Even if you are unsure of your next year options, you can still register and if something changes your child will simply be automatically dropped after they are “no shows” in August. This allows for our school to secure our teachers for the next year and it is always better to over plan than under! Thank you!
