Resource Guide:

School Librarian Appreciation Week is this week!
School Librarian Appreciation Week is April 13-17, 2020. Please remember our librarian, the fabulous Ms. Richey, and the crucial support she provides to our students! Although we can’t thank her in person, students and families can send Ms. Richey a thank you email or post on the Summitt Wall of Gratitude a special note or picture for our Book Wizard (aka Ms Richey).

The Summitt Good News…paper, Special Quarantine Edition April 2020
The Summitt newspaper team has released a special quarantine edition of Summitt’s very own student newspaper. This is a great way to learn more about the programming our school provides in the various grade levels from our very own students and to share some good news with our families. Click Here to Read.

Chúng ta giờ phải làm việc ở nhà và còn phải cố gắng dạy dỗ con cái học hành cũng như chuyện trò với các em. Tình trạng hiện giờ rất là khó khăn cho nhiều gia đình, họ không thể mua thức ăn cho gia đình . Hội phụ huynh học sinh và trường Summitt không thể gây quỹ để giúp, nhưng phụ huynh có thể đóng góp để giúp cho cộng đồng . Nếu quý vị muốn đóng góp đê mua thẻ mua thức ăn HEB để giúp các gia đình gặp khó khăn này, OR nếu phụ huynh cần giúp đỡ cung cấp thức ăn, xin liên lac cô Amanda Greene tại amandakgreene@yahoo.com. Summitt 2020-2021 PTA Board Nomination
The Summitt PTA Nomination Committee nominates the following individuals for the 2020-21 PTA Executive Board: President: Sarah Romo de Vivar      Vice President 1 (Fundraising) – Becca Beck       Vice President 2 (Programs) – Monique Senseman     Treasurer: Eli Erickson Secretary: Sarah Allen A vote will be taken to approve these nominations at our next PTA general meeting in May.  All members are invited to attend and vote. Nominations will also be taken from the floor at that time if there is any other interested party.

Coding for Kids
NEW CODING SUBJECTS & Temporary deep discount. Coding with Kids is offering all new camps, classes and workshops starting next week that are for students ages 5-18 to provide live online educational options through the end of the school year.  We are launching a number of new programs starting April 20. We have new courses for all ages, including intro to Java, C#, advanced Minecraft Modding, computer skills for 5-7y/o and more. Learn more and request the discount link here

2020 Census
Have you filled out the 2020 Census yet?  You can do it online in less than 10 minutes! By filling out the 2020 Census, you can know that you’re doing your part to ensure that billions of federal dollars flow to where resources are most needed to help our communities. It also ensures that our communities receive sufficient representation.

Austin ISD to Provide Meals During School Cancellations
Austin ISD Food Services will prepare and provide meals for children under the age of 19 and their parents or caregivers at more than 70 locations while school is closed due to COVID-19 precautions. The Summitt Elementary Alumni Scholarship
The Summitt Elementary Alumni Scholarship is now accepting applicants from high school seniors through May 1, 2020. Learn more here.

Spring Grant program
The Spring Grant program will be postponed until a later date when the applications can be accessed and reviewed in person.
