Meet the Teacher Morning – Friday August 16th 7:30am-9:30am (new time!)

Find out your student’s teacher and classroom, say “hi!”, and drop off school supplies. Please note the new time in the morning. If you and your child are unable to attend Friday mornings MTT, you can call the school anytime after 9:30 am on Friday Aug 16th to ask who your student’s teacher will be. School supplies can be brought the first day of school. Back to School Night has been moved up to the 2nd week of school so parents/guardians can learn all about their student’s class much sooner this year!

Parents and guardians are invited up to the school to hear from their student’s teacher(s), talk to Special Areas teachers, purchase Birthday Book Club memberships, sign up to volunteer, and browse clubs and after school activities booths available to their students.

School Supplies list

We have the school supplies list in a printable format here or for pictures here

Please note that in many cases the school supplies are joined into a community bin and then passed back out randomly, so try to get as close to the described item as possible without deviation or personalization.

Join the PTA in helping Summitt & your child
Did you know that an active and engaged family is directly related to student success? Please help Summitt by getting involved and getting connected to benefit your child.  Please review and consider the list of PTA program positions available for the 2019-2020.  For more info, simply email the officer overseeing the position.

BOX TOPS is going digital
Thank you to all families who have helped us raise money by collecting Box Tops for our school.  Soon, the physical BOX TOP clips will be replaced by families scanning in their receipts for eligible products into a new mobile app. Detailed info to come over the summer.  In the meantime, please continue to clip and submit any physical BOX TOPS as they will all be accepted until the expiration date.

Need photographers for next year
Are you savvy on social media? Do you like taking pictures of your kids (and friends’ kids) at events? The Communications team needs you! We are looking for a team of 2-3 people to take pictures at Summitt events starting next school year. Your duties include attending major Summitt events, posting pictures to our Facebook page and also uploading it to our yearbook site. For more info, email summitteagles@gmail.com

Need volunteers to update website
We need to update info on the Summitt website (summitteagles.org) and need a few people to look through it and suggest the updates. We have a lot of pages with a wealth of info, but some of it is outdated. This is a good project to do over the summer. You do not need to know how to design or build a website. We will have people who can make those changes on the site if you let them know what is needed. For info, email summitteagles@gmail.com

Searching for Appreciation Team Sponsors…
Have you noticed the shout outs in the newsletter to Platinum Balloon Decor? Your business could be mentioned next school year! We’re looking for anything that will brighten the day for our hardworking staff: giftcards (either as a gift for the staff/teachers or for the Appreciation Team to use to purchase items), flowers/plants, decor, food/drinks, trinkets, supplies, poster printing, etc. If you own or work for a business that is interested in supplying a specific appreciation week (or a whole semester—or an entire school year!), please reach out to the Summitt Appreciation Team (appreciationdays@summitteagles.org).

…and Appreciation Team Members
The Appreciation Team is looking for people to plan fun themes for appreciation weeks, create posters, decorate, put together goody bags/baskets, and streamline the “process of appreciation.” Whether you’re someone who loves any excuse to look at Pinterest, a person who has an eye for decorating, or someone who can make processes more efficient, we would love to have you! Please reach out: appreciationdays@summitteagles.org.
