Meet the Teacher Night
Come to the cafeteria to find out who your child’s teacher will be! Meet the Teacher will be on Thursday, Aug. 16. Pre-K and Kinder students are welcome from 3:30-6 p.m. Grades 1-5 will be from 4-6 p.m. This is a come-and-go event so you do not have to get there when it starts.
Class lists will be posted in the cafeteria. We will not have class rosters posted for Pre-K and Kinder until 3:30 p.m., and grades 1-5 until 4 p.m.
In the cafeteria, you will also be able to purchase T-shirts, annual PTA memberships, headphones, agendas, yearbooks, etc. Forms will be available to fill out to purchase your desired items. YOU MUST PAY FOR ITEMS AT THE CASHIER BEFORE PICKING THEM UP AT EACH STATION. We accept check, cash and credit cards.
Skip the lines and go online! The Summitt store will be open soon! You will be able to order online and then pick up PTA memberships, assignment books, T-shirts, headphones, etc. at Meet the Teacher Night. Go to http://summitteagles.org/ and click on Store at the top of the page. For some mobile users, the Store is in the Menu button that looks like 3 lines. You can pay with credit card or bank transaction via PayPal.
The online store will be open until Thursday, Aug. 16 at noon.
If you ordered school supplies online at the end of the year, your supply kits will already be distributed to your child’s classroom. School supply kits include headphones and agendas for necessary grades, so there is no need to purchase those additional items.
If you didn’t order supplies online, bring your school supplies to leave in your classroom.
We love our Summitt alumni! We’d love to have our middle and high schoolers come and help at Meet the Teacher. They can get volunteer hours and see former teachers! They can help distribute supplies, show parents to the classrooms, entertain younger students while their parents fill out forms, etc.
There will be tables in the Great Hall with information on after school care, after school clubs/activities, etc.
Because there will be volunteers setting up and teachers will be getting their classrooms ready, please do not arrive before your designated time.
Meet the Teacher Volunteers Needed
You can help make Meet the Teacher a success. We need people to greet parents, hand out T-shirts and headphones, be cashiers and more. The PTA has split the night into shifts so volunteers have time to go to their own student’s teacher classrooms. Sign up early to get the best shifts. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0b45ada723aa8-meet
Classroom locations for next school year
Pre-K – 7:45 am – 2:15 pm (assembly starts at 7:30 am)
Kinder – 5th grade – 7:45 am – 3 pm (assembly starts at 7:30 am)
Doors are open for students at 7:10 am. Your student is considered tardy if they arrive after 7:45 am.
Many grade levels are moving from their current location next year. We will bring Pre-K and Life Skills/PPCD from the portables into the main building. All of 3rd grade and half of 4th grade will be in the portables. Kinder and 2nd grade will move to a different location in the main building. Click here for the map. All classroom locations are subject to change.
Teacher Workroom Chair
The PTA is in search of someone to maintain the Teacher Workroom for the upcoming school year. Responsibilities include keeping the workroom organized, ordering supplies, training new volunteers, and helping fulfill teacher requests. If interested, please firstname.lastname@example.org.
Boo Hoo, Woo Hoo Breakfast
Whether it’s dropping off your first child or your fourth child for Pre-K or Kindergarten, the first day of school is full of emotions. Summitt PTA invites all parents of Pre-K and Kinder students to the Boo Hoo, Woo Hoo breakfast on Monday, Aug. 20. After you drop off your child in their classroom, join other parents in the library for some breakfast treats. Summitt PTA members and some staff will be on hand to answer questions.
